Courtney Holloway - Trumpet I, Musical Director
Mr. Holloway is a native of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He received the Bachelor of Music degree (Jazz Studies) from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. His principal teachers have been Lawrence Goldsmith, Dr. Frank Fighera, Dr. Bill Finegan, whom he studied Jazz arranging with, Tony Kadleck, and Dr. Daniel D'Addio, founder of the Brass Ring, the award winning quintet founded at Yale School of Music. During his four years at UB he studied a variety of musical styles, including Jazz, Classical and Baroque. In addition to his many accomplishments at UB he has become an advocate for music in the Seacoast region, playing in many Big Bands and Musicals. His most honored position is that of Minister of Music for his home church, New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Holloway is currently working on new arrangements for the Brassworks first CD recording.


Alan Eves - Trumpet II
Mr. Eves is a resident of Greenland, New Hampshire, where he owns and operates the Garden of Eves. Mr. Eves has been playing professionally in the Seacoast New Hampshire region for more than 25 years. During this time Mr. Eves has performed in numerous groups ranging in styles from Jazz to classical to musicals. Mr. Eves is a 1974 graduate of the University of New Hampshire. During his four years at the university, he played in many of the larger ensembles and small chamber groups. Mr. Eves adds to the Portsmouth Brassworks a warm sound and years of musical experience that has helped move the group to a whole new level of performance.


Jennifer Larson - French Horn
Mrs. Larson comes to the Seacoast from Chicago, IL. While there, she became a founding member of the Barossa Quintet, and has performed recitals and educational concerts including performance on the Dame Myra Hess Recital Series in 2002. She has performed with the Illinois Symphony, Ft. Wayne Philharmonic, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the National Repertory Orchestra, the New World Symphony, and the orchestras of Elmhurst & Park Ridge, IL, as well as the American Opera Group, Opera Piccola and the orchestras of Rochester and Albany, New York, Erie, Pennsylvania and Ft. Wayne, IN. Jennifer received a MM from Northwestern University and a BM from the Eastman School of Music. Her primary teachers have included Gail Williams, Peter Kurau, and Bruce Henniss. She currently teaches horn at the Bell Center for the Performing Arts in Dover, NH.


Keith W. Holt - Trombone
Mr. Holt is a 1987 graduate of Portsmouth High School and a 1991 graduate of the University of New Hampshire (UNH) in Durham, New Hampshire. During his four years at UNH Mr. Holt performed in numerous musical groups including the UNH Marching Band and the UNH Symphonic Band. Mr. Holt has studied with Warren Muchemore, Wendell Purrington, Nick Orevich and William Mosher, of the University of Hartford. In addition to his college experience, Mr. Holt has been performing musicals professionally throughout the seacoast area for more than ten years. Mr. Holt played lead trombone for the Seacoast Repertory Theaters’ production of "Annie" which ran throughout the 1997 Christmas holiday. Although he has a particular love for musicals, his passion extends through many other musical areas.


Steve Workman - Tuba, Group Coordinator
Mr. Workman is a 1996 graduate of the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire where he majored in Social Work and minored in Music Education. During his time at UNH Workman excelled into the position of principle tuba for the University Wind Symphony. His musical vitae includes performances in several seacoast area quintets, orchestras, symphonies, and musicals. When not pursuing his music career, Mr Workman is currently working as an independent consultant.
